Maersk extends Chissonga as Samsung slips

Maersk Oil has thinned the bidding list for its giant Chissonga tension leg wellhead platform (TLWP) and FPSO project off Angola but extended the deadline as it continues to try to reduce costs. The company had been expected to award the contracts for the deepwater Block 16 development late this quarter but this has been extended in the hope that continuing competition will help cut costs further.
