Japanese energy companies signed a series of agreements with Mozambique as Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited the East African country as part of a campaign to catch up with China in pursuing resources, markets and influence on the continent. Chiyoda Corp signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mozambique Enterprise of National Hydrocarbon (ENH) for training of engineers while Mitsui Corp and ENH agreed to capry out a study on LNG.
