Abstract xml:id="jctb5213-para-0001"> γ‐valerolactone ( <fc>GVL</fc> ) is an important intermediate chemical with a wide range of applications as fuel, fuel additive and as a green solvent which has received a great deal of attentions from both academia and industry.
