UNITED STATES STEEL CORPORATION ACQUIRES INTEREST IN BIG RIVER STEEL

United States Steel Corporation (U.S. Steel) has acquired 49.9% of interest in Big River Steel within its “best of both” strategy, Metal Expert learnt from the company’s announcement. The strategy implies a mix of traditional integrated steelmaking activities with more cost-effective production of mini-mills. The producer attracts USD1.1 billion through bond offering and credit line to implement the programme.
