RUSSIA’S METPROM GROUP TO SET UP LONGS PLANT IN EGYPT

Russia’s Metprom Group plans to invest in construction of a longs-rolling mill within Russian Industrial Area in the east of Port Said Free Economic Zone in Suez Canal, Egypt. According to the statement of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the plant may be designed to produce 150,000 tpy of long products, including rebar. The investments are estimated at about EUR 60 million. The timeframe, scope of equipment and its capacity will be commented later.
