In the context of the opioid crisis that has become a modern plague, it seems that bodywork providers — also known as non-prescription medication providers - may well prove to be the hope for tomorrow's society.Every day, over 115 people in the United States die from the overdosing on opioids (Chen et al., 2014). There is tremendous misuse of and addiction to opioids such as prescription pain relievers, synthetic opioids (such as fentanyl), and illegal opioids (such as heroin), and this has become a national crisis that affects public health as well as social and economic welfare (Schepis et al., 2019).
