GUEST EDITORIAL

Velkommen til denne spesialutgaven av tidssknftet Journal of Applied Arts and Health QAAH), Anvendt Kunst og Helse: Et Skandinavisk Perspektivl/Welcome to this special edition of the Journal of Applied Arts and Health (JAAH), Applied Arts & Health: A Scandinavian Perspective! This special issue has grown out of an international research collaboration between the United Kingdom and Norway, which was established in 2012 to examine how the arts may be usefully applied to the health and care sector, which we are a part of. The initiative was developed in the wake of The Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Health and Care Service in Norway recognizing the potential of arts in health and acknowledging the need for more research (Kulturdepartementet 2011-2012; Helse-og omsorgsdepartementet 2012-2013). It looked to draw on the critical investigation of arts and health in the United Kingdom to examine emerging practices in Norway and hoped that, in turn, this would feed back into a wider understanding of the potential of arts in health processes.
