Leveraging drillers as coaches helps to increase new technology uptake

TO INCREASE OVERALL DRILLING performance and the repeatability of successfully drilled wells, drilling contractors have been developing or acquiring process automation technologies for years. Drilling automation technology encompasses everything from basic autodrillers all the way up to complete slips-to-slips automation. In 2016, Ensign's Wellsite Technology division released the Ensign EDGE, which delivers a comprehensive technology suite to address drilling challenges, optimizing drilling performance, crew safety, equipment reliability and rig processes.
