Long time readers of this column will recognize elements of this motor, the driving force for the clock (Photo 58 and Figure 18). Many of the underlying principles and some of the actual design details, proven successful and effective, are lifted wholesale from my Magnetic Gear Clock design and are reproduced here, as are influences from other clocks I have presented in these pages over the years.
