China’s iron ore imports rose 1% y-o-y to 89mt inAugust, bringing imports in the first eight months ofthe year to 710mt, down 0.6% y-o-y. Firm y-o-ygrowth in iron ore exports from Brazil in June-Augusthad supported expectations of firmer Chineseimports, but softer Australian volumes in July andAugust, as well as falling shipments from India, haveundermined growth.
