摘要

The diffusion of methane through soil and sediment layers from underground gas storages and its emission to the surface atmosphere layers attract increasing attention, because the number and volume of underground gas-holders increase. The problem of air protection in the regions of underground gas storages is also involved. For enterprises of the oil and gas complex, the impermeability of gas fields and underground storages of natural gas is a burning problem. Natural gas losses during the 30-year period of its underground storage can run to 1.5 billion m3 [3]. The rate of gas loss depends on the properties of soils above the underground gas storages. Soils fulfil regulating ecological functions in the biosphere and control the content of gases in the atmosphere [2].
