Implementation of ICF in goal setting in rehabilitation of children with chronic disabilities at Beitostolen Healthsports Centre

In the present study, we wanted to assess the problems and identify the main needs and goals of children with disabilities admitted to Beitostolen Healthsports Centre (BHC), within the framework of International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). Goal setting is a core component of the rehabilitation process, and ICF has been applied in order to facilitate this process. The ICF provides the most adequate framework to describe the condition of the persons towards whom rehabilitative efforts are concentrated [1]. The bio-psycho-social perspective captures various components of functioning, and facilitates the collection of data on chronic health conditions [2].
