Development of a real-time PCR assay for the direct detection of Candida species causing Vulvovaginal candidiasis

Identification of Candida species by traditional methods can be time-consuming and have limited analytical sensitivity. We developed a multiplex real-time PCR assay for detection and differentiation of Candida species causing vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC).
