The BVDzero case study project, initiated by Boehringer Ingelheim, aims to increase the awareness of BVD and help reduce its impact on the livestock industry. Vets globally are invited to submit case studies, which are then judged by an expert panel.A case study put forward by Becky Gay, director of Axe Valley large animal vets, Somerset, which looks at the challenges of a BVD outbreak in a vaccinated herd, made it into the award's top 10.The farm featured in the case study is a 200-cowHolstein herd milking three times-a-day and averaging 12,000 litres.
