Sexuality begins with the Dance between Parents and Children. Research into Infants, Neuropsychology and Body Psychotherapy Provides New Impulses for Couple and Sex Therapies

Nonverbal interactions play an essential role both in infancy and in adult sexuality. Findings from infancy research, neuropsychological brain research and body psychotherapy provide a new understanding for individual difficulties that arise in relationships and sexual encounters. This understanding forms the basis for movement experiments that can facilitate new intimate experiences. The body-psychotherapeutic technique of indirect intervention addresses problems through functional, abstract or symbolic movement and enables the patient to solve problems and develop strengths without mobilising feelings of fear or shame. In this way sexuality can be focused on in individual, couple and group therapies.
