Why plant prices are finally catching up with cost increases

Retailers are suggesting that plant prices could rise by up to 10 per cent in 2018 thanks to a range of factors, not least continuing increases in import costs with the pound down to below ?1.10. In a 2016 Horticulture Week survey, 71 per cent of growers and 59 per cent of retailers said they planned to increase prices, although greater competition has meant this has not always happened.
