The masses of business data now available can guide decision-making and measure outcomes, says Neville Stein.Meeting with the well-respected Robin Lack recently, we reflected on my early days as a salesman at Waterers Nurseries. Now, 34 years later, those days seem to belong to an entirely different era, particularly considering the manual processes we used torecord information about our stock and customers. Now there is a mountain of information available to help manage not only the sales process but the whole operation, from production right through to despatch. We live in a data-driven world where it is so easy to collect facts and statistics, but are we making the most of it?
