The third National Tree Officers Conference has heard a range of strategies employed by local authority tree managers to maintain tree stocks cost-effectively."Austerity isn't over in local government," former Bristol City Council senior arboricultural officer Russell Horsey told the conference, which was organised by the Municipal Tree Officers Association, the London Tree Officers Association and the Institute of Chartered Foresters. "Tree officers need to tap into the departments of health and transport."
