Each quarter, the AJR will publish the transcripts of the Masters of Radiology panel discussion hosted by Drs. Howard P. Forman and Marcia C. Javitt. The panel will review topics of importance in the field of radiology and share their unique insight into how these issues are shaping or will shape the future of the specialty. Javitt: The subject today is "Encouraging and Fostering Mentorship: How We Can Ensure That No Faculty Member Is Left Behind and That Leaders Do Not Fail." I'd like to cover three main areas that pertain to this topic. The first is mentorship; the second is faculty development, recruitment, and retention; and the third is leadership. Let's start with mentorship.
