Global trend in breast cancer imaging research 1992-2012: Bibliometric study

摘要

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer type in women and ranks second only to lung cancer as the leading cause of cancer death in the United States [1]. Globally, it remains the most common cause of cancer-related death in women, with 1.35 million new cases every year, and appropriately breast cancer research is rigorously pursued worldwide [1, 2]. The purpose of this bibliometric study is to quantitatively analyze the global trends of breast cancer research with focus on imaging over the past 20 years by examining global productivity in published literature.
