A single Black-bellied Whistling-Duck was seen by many observers and provided a first record for McLeod County in early June. As usual with Mute Swans in Minnesota, the provenance of the individual found in Stearns County in mid-July is unknown. A Tundra Swan was unexpected in late June in Norman County, as was a Greater Scaup in Roseau County in July. A Black Scoter surprised observers in Zippel Bay of Lake of the Woods in June.
