Pentair to spin off US$2.1 bn Electrical business

Pentair plc is planning to split into two separate, public companies, with a tax-free spin-off of its Electrical business to shareholders. The separation will create standalone Water and Electrical companies, both publicly-traded. The Water company, which had 2016 sales of around US$2.8 billion and will include the Filtration & Process, Flow Technologies and Aquatic & Environmental Systems business groups, will operate under the Pentair name.
