Tai Yuan Heavy Industry is looking to sell its TZ400 design jackup. The rig, identified as TZ400-1 in the RigPoint database, is currently undergoing testing and commissioning by the shipyard. The speculative rig is being built at Tai Yuan subsidiary Tai Zhong Bin Hai's facility in Tianjin, China, and is close to completion. The project started off as a collaboration with China Petroleum Liaohe Equipment Company (CPLEC) with the design based on CPLEC's CP400 jackup. However, the latter has pulled out from the offshore sector and is no longer in partnership with the yard for the project. The yard started construction on the rig in 2014. At one point in 2015, it had planned to build a second jackup of similar design and even started procuring some materials, but the yard confirms this has since been shelved.
