Commodities trading giant Vitol is joining a host of mainly European majors that are on the hunt for pro?table renewables projects. Its initial focus will be on- and offshore wind projects to complement its existing European power business, where it oper- ates in more than 20 countries and trades over 44 terawatt hours per year — equivalent to roughly 12% ofUK electricity generation.
