BIM ACQUIRES NEW MUSSEL BED SURVEY VESSEL

A new Wildcat 40 intended to monitor mussel bed stocks in Dingle Bay and along east coast of Ireland was launched in Kinsale, Co Cork by Ireland's Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed TD.The Bord lascaigh Mhara (BIM) T Burke IIwill be primarily used to monitor and survey mussel bed stocks in Dingle Bay and along the east coast from Camsore Point, Co Wexford to Carlingford, Co Louth. A side scan sonar will allow BIM technical officers to know whether seed mussel is present ornot.
