COME SEPTEMBER DAIRY PRODUCERS will have to be more vigilant in recording information and providing it to the Canadian Cattle Identification Agency. CCIA is the national traceability regulator for Dairy Farmers of Canada as it continues to roll out implementation of ProAction.Over the summer producers will be receiving email "blasts," from Holstein Canada or Jersey Canada advising them of changes to the dairy protocol which will come into effect on Sept. 1, says Jennifer Kyle, explaining that producers will have "new, littlethings," to be aware of. And "new reporting of things that they aren't used to right now," says Kyle.Now animals will have to be tagged with dual tags, says Kyle and there will be some paperwork that's different.
