Crosshead offers micro-fine adjustment for achieving ultra-precise concentricity

Guill Tool & Engineering has introduced a unique extrusion crosshead for the extrusion of thin-walled jacketing and precision ID/OD tubing that uses micro-fine adjustment screws for precise concentricity adjustment. A press release said that the precision of the concentricity reaches 0.008 in., or finer, per revolution, made possible by a single-point concentricity adjustment. One adjustment bolt controls 360° of adjustment. The single-point crosshead includes a patented cam-lock deflector for quick change-overs. It has a residence time of one minute at .5 lb/hr material flow, optimized usage with extruders measuring .50 in. and .75 in., and a max die ID of .250 in.
