Looking to the future: Leading tyre manufacturers reveal technology of tomorrow [and today] at Geneva Motor Show

THE GENEVA MOTOR SHOW 2017 had all the fun of the [automotive] fair. Car launches such as that of the Porsche 911 GT3 as well as the latest McLaren (the 720s) went on all around. However, it was the tyre technology of the future that stood out to Tyres & Accessories. To this end Pirelli and Goodyear Dunlop made the greatest efforts to demonstrate that their tyres are not only high quality products now, but that they connect with the challenges and opportunities that current trends towards electric vehicles and increase in-car data flow bring with them. For its part Pirelli launched "Connesso" - an integrated tyre sensor/cloud solution (more on that later). At the same time, Goodyear took its spherical concept to the next level. Apollo continues to make significant steps forward towards the OE segment and the Yokohama stand hosted a number of world-first product launches.
