Two-thirds of consumers against winter tyres

67 PER CENT OF DRIVERS don't think winter tyres are worth the investment, according to an online poll conducted by Co-op Insurance on 25 January. The Twitter-based poll received votes from 4,084 individuals and a stream of interesting comments on the subject. Reading through views of the top 1 per cent of voters that commented, it was clear that motorists are deeply sceptical about the need to invest in winter tyres in the UK at all. Some comments showed awareness of the below 7 degrees advice that has been marketed by the industry for some time, but many remain unconvinced.
