Automechanika Frankfurt postponed till 2021: Ho Chi Minh City edition of the show to forge ahead with revised August 2020 dates

The diverging fates of two Automechanika trade shows illustrate the different stages of the Coronavirus pandemic in Europe and South-East Asia. While Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City has successfully reorganised its February dates for an August show, the home Frankfurt edition has been postponed for just over a year. Messe Frankfurt, the organiser of Automechanika events, agreed with its customers, partners and supporting associations to postpone Automechanika Frankfurt, originally scheduled to take place from 8 to 12 September 2020, due to the coronavirus crisis. The new dates are 14 to 18 September 2021. Automechanika Frankfurt will then resume its biennial rotation - the event will now be taking place in odd-numbered years. According to the show organisers, it simply would not have been possible for many of the exhibitors and visitors from over 180 countries to take part in the event under the conditions currently prevailing or those expected at that time.
