As at 30 June 2017, Tronox classified its Alkali business as an asset that is "held and used." Onwards from the beginning of Q3 2017, the Alkali business will be classified as an "asset that is held for sale" and its financial results will be reported by Tronox under the heading "discounted operations." In its 10-Q/Quarterly Report for Q2 2017, Tronox stated: "For the second half of 2017, the (book) loss from the Alkali business sale is expected to be approximately $US 200 million (net of tax) plus the costs of selling the business."
