TRONOX: Realised TiO2 Pigment Selling Price Raised by 24% over Five Quarters

Profitability for the TiO2 segment (measured as adjusted EBITDA divided by sales revenue) increased to 29.2% in Q2 2017. Mr Johnston commented: "The last time our TiO2 segment achieved a 30% margin was in Q3 2012, but that was at a time when pigment prices were 45% higher than they are today. Our profit performance (in Q2 2017) is a clear indication of the benefits of vertical integration, with all our assets in full-scale operation. It is also the result of extraordinarily good work by the global team to reduce costs through the successful implementation of our Operational Excellence programme. We fully expect to meet or exceed our 30% profitability target in Q3 2017, earlier than we had previously expected.
