NORWAY: Tronox Agrees to Buy Eramet's Ilmenite Smelter for $US 300 mn

On 14 May 2020, Tronox Inc. (headquartered in Stamford, CT) and Eramet SA (headquartered in Paris) announced that they had signed a definitive agreement, under which Tronox will acquire the Tyssedal ilmenite smelter in Norway. This will be accomplished by paying $US 300 million cash to buy all the shares in TiZir Titanium & Iron A/S (TTI). Thus Tronox will acquire not only the physical assets - the smelter, warehouses, offices and related plant and equipment - but also customer lists, technology rights, etc.
