摘要

This volume contains the proceedings of the Fifth International Conference on Thrombosis and Hemostasis Issues in Cancer, held in Stresa, Italy, April 23-25, 2010. As has become the tradition over the past 10 years, this conference focuses on translational research (even before that term became so fashionable), with a strong emphasis on the application of basic science to solving clinical problems in patients with cancer. We get to hear the latest from our colleagues who study oncogene activation of blood coagulation and the signaling pathways which are regulated by this process. Using that information, we are able to consider new strategies for the treatment of cancer that inhibit activation of both oncogenes and blood coagulation.
