Obituary John Anthony (Tony) Dutton

Tony Dutton was born in Crewe, Cheshire. His father was a sales manager and his mother an art teacher. He was educated at Crewe County Grammar school and then went on to work at the Research Laboratories of the General Electric Company in Wembley. He was concerned with the development of Travelling Wave Tubes and associated circuitry for radar and communications. He rose to the rank of Senior Experimental Officer and laboratory administrator for his department and then went on to become a Development Engineer with G.E.C.'s M. O. Valve Company. In 1977, he took up the position as a Physics Laboratory Technician in a local school.
