This book is a comprehensive guide for various materials used in the field of implantology and periodontics for tissue engineering. The purpose of authors is to provide better understanding for clinicians towards optimization of the outcomes of the various regenerative materials. The initial chapters provide an introduction to different bone graft classes, their regenerative properties and a comparison relating to their use in surgical dentistry. The subsequent chapters describe evolution of new biomaterials, combination approach for uses and limitations using case studies and literature. This book also offers an insight in bioprinting, bone morphogenic proteins, growth factors and gene therapy which is quite exemplary. The final chapter provides guidelines for the selection of biomaterials for bone and periodontal tissue engineering which becomes a helpful guide for the clinicians while selecting bone substitute. The book is beautifully illustrated with clinical photographs, radiographs and diagrams. Every chapter contains a summary and a conclusion, which gives an overview of the topic to the readers. This book is an interesting read for the experienced surgical practitioner as well as for postgraduates requiring a reliable guide towards selecting next generation biomaterials.
