ApisProtect: An Irish Company is leading the world in hive monitoring technology.ApisProtect established in Cork in 2017- thanks to the beekeepers of Ireland - is now monitoring honey bees in hives across Ireland, the UK, South Africa and the United States.Following a radio interview highlighting her research during her Ph.D, Dr Edwards Murphy received phone calls from beekeepers around Ireland asking when the technology she had developed would be available for beekeepers. This inspired Dr Fiona Edwards Murphy to establish ApisProtect with her co-founders Dr Padraig Whelan and Andrew Wood, a team with complementary backgrounds including engineering, scientific, beekeeping and commercial experience. ApisProtect is now testing its technology in four countries across the world and monitoring a variety of bee subspecies and climates.
