Response to P. Destrez concerning G.J. Hughes etal.: Impact of cleaning and other interventions on the reduction of hospital-acquired Clostridium difficile infections in two hospitals in England assessed using a breakpoint model

We thank Dr Destrez for his comments on our study and welcome the opportunity to clarify the points that he raises. The discussion in the text of our article deliberately does not refer to any specific hydrogen peroxide (HPV) manufacturer, although we do acknowledge Hygiene Solutions in Table 1 against the decant and deep-clean intervention implemented at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, in autumn 2008. Use of their HPV product started in the Hospital Trust in early 2008 and it has been in use since then.
