Sanitary Napkin...has been produced using chemically treated jute caddis as absorbent cotton substitute. Better results for thermal conductivity, absorbency, static charge growth and water holding capacity were obtained from the napkins made by blending 90% chemically treated jute caddis as absorbent cotton substitute with 10% standard absorbent cotton. Higher thermal conductivity and medium value of absorbency, water holding capacity and static charge growth were found to be obtained from the napkins made by blending 50% chemically jute caddis with 50% absorbent cotton. But the products were found to be less economically feasible. Due to scouring and hot caustic treatment and bleaching at a temp, from 80 to 90 deg C , the sample became most hygienic and no mycotoxin and allergy producing fungi was found to be grown in Dermatological test. Harshfeelness was eliminated by using the outer coverings of soft hygienic type of bandage cloth. All the works were carried out at about 125 deg K+2 deg K of room temperature and 65% + 5% of Relative Humidity.
