Spirulina Culture in Bangladesh IX A Comparative Study on the Effects of Three Different Ashes on Coil Filament Characteristics of Spirulina

The effects of three different ashes : rice husk ash, coconut coir ash and banana ash in three culture media: IFP, Bd, and BD_4, on the coil characteristics and general growth of Spirulina, were studied. The study showed that, different media as wellas different ash had varied effects on the coil characteristics of Spirulina. In that, the effect of Bd_4 medium was best, followed by Bd_1, Banana ash was found to be superior to the other ashes included in this study.
