A new nickname, some marketing and new ideas, and off they went. The state show had slowly declined to a weekend show,owned by the affiliate and its youth affiliate. The revitalization was driven by a small committee of volunteer members who came forward with ideas and energy, who were given rein by the Iowa Quarter Horse Association board of directors to run with it.And "The Mayflower" bloomed.
