FRID systems which comply with this specification might be subject to Interllectual Property Rights(IPR)as referred to in section 7.2 below or in ISO/IEC 18000-1 Annex E and/or owned by other organisations. The UPU shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such IPR, or for ensuring that applicable IPR can be licensed on economically viable terms. It is the responsibility of users of the standard to conduct any necessary patent searches and to ensure that any pertinent patents are in the pulic domain; are licensed or are avoided.
