FAO seeks funds for agchem clean-up

The UN FAO has called on donor nations to provide more funds for the disposal of obsolete pesticides.The appeal was made by Mark Davis,the head of the FAO's programme on the prevention and disposal of obsolete pesticides."Unfortunately,without additional funds from donor countries,the FAO will be unable to respond to its member nations that need assistance,because funding for an FAO programme on the prevention and disposal of obsolete pesticides is ending by the end of this year," Mr Davis warned at an expert meeting in Rome,Italy,this month.
