Monsanto has welcomed the dismissal of a 1995 lawsuit by the dow agrosciences'subsidiary,Mycogen seeds (formerly Mycogen plant genetics),over the invention of synthetic bacillus thuringiensis gene expression technology in plants.Dow's dismissal of the suit is a further indication that monsanto "consistently prevails in legal disputes over which company's scientists were first to invent the important crop improvement technology of synthetic Bt genes,"says Monsanto's executive vicepresident and chief technology officer,Dr robert fraley.
