The use of cement as a binder in the process of industrial waste briquetting

Powdery metamorphic rocks, cement and H2O-contg. mixts. were briquetted in a gravity-fed roll press with asymmetric compaction layout. The compressive strength of the briquettes depended on the cement (5-15% by mass) and water (3-15% by mass) content in the mixt. The water content in the briquetted material had a significant impact on its compressive strength. The amt. of H2O in the mixt. was minimized to decrease the evapn. costs during manufg. of building materials.
