Mental disorders are frequent and generally do not heal spontaneously. Mentally ill frequently do not ask for help. It is thus important to actively approach them and to aim for an early diagnosis to avoid a shift of symptoms and resulting aggravation. Somatically focused physicians frequently miss mental disorders. However, the number of working days lost by mentally ill is as low as the one of individuals who were never mentally diseased. Avoiding and treating mental disorders early is very important for the concerned and their working environment.
