LEARNING IN THE GARDEN EDUCATING YOUTH ON THE HIGH LINE

Nearly eight million visitors a year walk New York City's High Line, an elevated 1.45-mile linear park that opened in 2009 on an abandoned railway line overlooking the Hudson Paver. An extraordinary and very successful example of repurposing industrial infrastructure into a sustainable public green space, the High Line has evolved into an outdoor classroom and an exploratory, hands-on space for learning and become an important part of the local community fabric.
