Coveris launches a fully-recyclable PE film

In partnership with the Co-op and Freshtime,Coveris has launched a fully-recyclable PE film that is said to deliver the same protective,functional and shelf-life benefits as existing non-recyclable offerings.This is a step forward in the packaging manufacturer's pledge to deliver 100 per cent recyclable packaging by 2025.The Co-op,which has a target of making all of its own-brand packaging recyclable by 2023,will launch the film for its Freshtime prepared vegetable lines.The bags will carry the OPRL’Recycle with bags at larger stores’label.Manufactured in the UK at the Coveris facility at Winsford,the film is high-barrier,microwaveable,and has easy-open functions for lap,fin and weld sealed formats.The flexible packaging converter has previously worked with the Coop on the development of multilayer PE film for cooked meats,which enables more than 90 per cent of the pack weight to be recycled in the UK.
