Hungary's manufacturers of PET mineral water and soft drink bottles organised in the industry association Magyiisz (Budapest; www.asvanyvizek.hu) have pledged to increase the recyclate content of their packaging to 50% by 2030. With the move, the bottle producers, which have an annual production volume worth HUF 250 bn (around EUR 739m), will be the first in the country's food sector to make such a commitment. The association claims to represent more than 95 % of Hungarian mineral water bottlers and around 80% of the country's soft drink and fruit juice manufacturers.
