PPE production resumes in the Netherlands/ World's third plant for 'Ultem' PEI in Singapore

In response to growing demand, petchem and plastics giant Sabic (Riyadh / Saudi Arabia; www.sabic.com) is expanding capacity for its "Ultem" PEI and "Noryl" PPE high-performance engineering plastics. In Singapore, where the group already has PEI compounding capacity, Sabic is planning a 50 % expansion of production of PEI. According to PIE's Polyglobe database (www.polyglobe.net), the new plant in Singapore will raise PEI capacities to over 50,000 t/y.
